Filmmaker. Storyteller. Solution Sherpa.

Jonathan Shepard is a creative director, producer, and content strategist with a career spanning film, broadcast television, branded media, experiential design, and integrated marketing. Over the last two decades, he has led creative teams across virtually every format of visual storytelling — including broadcast and digital campaigns, immersive and interactive experiences, AR/VR and emerging media, documentary, episodic television, live multi-camera production, branded content, and feature film.

His work is grounded in a simple belief: the strongest brands do more than communicate — they create connection. By aligning story, design, messaging, and execution, Jonathan helps organizations define who they are, articulate what they stand for, and translate those values into meaningful customer experiences and measurable business outcomes.

Jonathan began his career in feature film production in New York, contributing to projects for HBO, FOX/Paramount, CBS, MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Showtime, Comedy Central, American Zoetrope, Merchant Ivory, Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule, The Shooting Gallery, and numerous independent studios and production companies.

He later joined the Viacom production ecosystem, including MTV Networks Development, where he led production teams on a range of unscripted and development projects including High School Stories, Juvies, The Next White Rapper, The Big Gay Sketch Show, and segments for The Man Show.

From there, Jonathan expanded into branded storytelling, advertising, and creative leadership. In 2011, he founded Fat Screaming Baby, a boutique production cooperative focused on innovative commercial and branded content. He later served as Executive Producer for DVA before joining GuideWell Connect Studios as Director of Broadcast and Motion Content, where he led a multidisciplinary internal agency overseeing producers, editors, animators, and content creators across a full-service production and post-production operation.

Today, Jonathan serves in marketing and brand leadership roles overseeing strategy, campaign development, content ecosystems, and creative execution across multiple brands. His work bridges creative vision with operational execution — guiding initiatives from concept through launch while aligning messaging, audience engagement, and business goals.

Across narrative film, advertising, and branded experiences, Jonathan has produced more than 35 narrative short films, over 60 documentary and nonfiction pieces, and multiple feature films that have screened internationally, received numerous awards, and secured global distribution.

 

Whether building a campaign, launching a brand initiative, directing content, or leading creative teams, Jonathan brings a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by years of hands-on production experience, strategic problem solving, and a belief that meaningful creative work should move both people and organizations forward.
